This novel is about life, death, love, fear, anger, passion, religion and about other things most people are not aware of such as the fact that there might be some inspiring forces (angels) all around us that can help us somehow. It tells the story of Karl, a man who has to live an ordeal in order to achieve understanding and self assurance about which is his role in life and possibly in death.

Thanks Carlo for writing a book that it is not only entertaining and well documented but also makes you consider some things that maybe you had never thought about before.

Surely there may be some truth in what has been written. I mostly enjoyed the historical background of the book and how it blends in with modern times. The ending got me by surprise as the main character was one that slowly grew on you and to have an ending like that, it made me close the book and think of the whole story. An easy read where I didn’t have to look twice at the words or paragraph. I find this more enjoyable when I want to read a book and relax.  A wonderful crafted story though I sense how some will not appreciate the writing due to its content, but saying that, there have been worse. Excellent story, a great read and will look out for the next chapter.

I read “The Book of Secrets” with mixed feelings.

I am a fan of historical fiction, but found some of the “back story”, while necessary, was a little wordy and too detailed, making the going quite heavy at times.  The base line plot was solid and flowed quite well and was peopled with well-rounded characters.  I also liked the descriptions of places I now feel I have visited, the words lifted them from the pages.
